Black De Ville ●
Nature Vs Machine
After eight years, Black De Ville needed to evolve while staying true to their story. We stepped in to help refresh their identity, preserving the artisanal essence at the heart of the brand.
While their handcrafted process, organic wax modelling refined through precise metalworking, set them apart, the brand’s identity did not tell this story. Our approach was to align the identity with Black De Ville's process, giving them a distinctive identity and helping to further carve out a unique foundation for the brand to grow.

Anchoring Strategy in Creative Duality
We identified the core insight of Nature vs Machine: the creative tension between organic wax modelling and precise metalworking. This narrative reframed the brand around transformation and craftsmanship rather than materials or heritage alone.

Crafting a Visual Language from Contrast
The typographic system balances geometric structure with organic curves, mirroring Black De Ville’s dual process. A modular brand mark adapts flexibly across touchpoints, while the colour palette draws from natural metal patinas, grounding the brand in authentic jewelcraft materials.

Building Distinction Through Process-Driven Identity
The refined strategy elevated Black De Ville’s presence, positioning them as masters of transformation. This clear narrative helped the brand stand out for their unique process and opened doors to premium positioning and strategic partnerships, all while staying true to their artisanal roots.
Working with Studio Glass identified their incredible attention to detail and creativity while still ensuring our brands core values were covered. The entire process was seamless and their direction was very clear. Cannot recommend enough.
